Viewing position budget and cost information on plans
Planners can view position budget information and understand employee cost impact on position budgets.
To view position budget information:
- Open a position-driven plan.
- Right-click on a position record, and then click on the Edit position option. The edit position modal is displayed.
- Click on the Budget details option to expand the Budget details drawer.
The budget drawer offers the following information about the selected position:
| Option | Description |
| Current position cost | Total cost of the current position, based on a rollup of the salaries for all current assignees. This rollup is calculated using whatever field is mapped to employee compensation. |
| Under/Over budget badge | Indicates if the current position cost is above or below the position's total budget. |
| Total budget | Field from your data that is mapped to position budget. If not mapped, this field is derived from cost band maximum x staffing target. |
| Remaining | The difference between the current position cost and the total budget. |
The budget drawer offers the following information about the employees who hold the position:
| Option | Description |
| Employee cost | Cost of an individual employee assigned to the current position. The employee's cost is calculated using whatever field is mapped to employee compensation. |
| Budget | Budget for the employee holder. The employee's budget is the cost cost band maximum for the position. |
| Remaining | The difference between the employee cost and the budget. |
