Overview
Administrators can add additional users to OrgChart. Users can be added to OrgChart using the following methods:
- Manually add users in the Account Settings: Manage users panel
- Automatically provision users via SSO
- Grant users access to the OrgChart application within ADP (ADP clients only)
The following article provides information on:
- Checking how many additional user seats are available in OrgChart

Checking the availability of additional user seats
When you purchase OrgChart, you purchase a number of Read/Write and Administrator seats. Before you begin adding users to your account, check the number of seats that are available.
1. Click on the Settings button in the bottom left corner, and then click on Account details.
2. The Account details panel is displayed. Here, you can see information about your account, including the Seat limit, and Currently used seats.
Only Administrator and Read/Write seats count towards your seat limit. There is no limit to the number of Read Only users in your account.

3. Click on the Settings button in the bottom left corner, and then click on Account settings.
4. Click on the Manage users panel, and then click on the +Create new user button.
5. Enter a Name, Uername, and Email for the user.
Assigning Roles and Access groups to new users
A user's access is determined by their role and access group. Roles control how users are able to use OrgChart, while access groups control access to application functionality and data.
The following roles are available in OrgChart:
- Read Only - User can view, search, and export org charts but cannot modify org chart or change presentation options.
- Read/Write - All Read Only capabilities plus user can create charts, modify presentation options, participate in workforce planning (e.g. Planning) exercises, and manually refresh charts.
- Administrator - All Read/Write capabilities plus access to all administrator functions (e.g. Manage Users, Chart Settings, and Account Settings).
The following section provides step-by-step instruction for manually assigning new users a role and access group.
Note
Users can be automatically assigned an access group via SSO or auto-group assignment.
6. Click on the Group dropdown menu, and then select an access group to assign to the user.
7. Click on the Role dropdown menu, and then select the role that you'd like this user to have.
Note
Access groups may assign roles. If your access group assigns a role within it, then you do not need to select a role from the role dropdown menu.
8. Click on Create.
