UI profiles

Overview

The UI Profiles panel allows Administrators to create and mange UI Profiles in OrgChart, which control a user's access to certain modules and menus. UI Profiles are selected when configuring access groups, which are later assigned to users in the Account Settings: Manage Users panel.

Accessing UI Profile Settings

1. Click on the Settings button in the bottom right corner, and then select the Account Settings option from the list.

2.  Navigate to UI Profiles section.  

The following options are available in the Account Settings: UI profiles panel:

Select profile dropdown menu	Use the dropdown menu (marked as Default) to switch between UI profiles. The name displayed in the UI profile selector dropdown, is the currently open UI profile.
Rename profile button	Rename the currently open UI profile. Note: UI profile names cannot contain spaces and the "Default" UI profile cannot be renamed.
Copy UI profile button	Copy the currently open UI profile.
Delete Profile button	Delete the currently open UI profile. Note: The "Default" UI profile cannot be deleted.
New UI profile button	Add a new UI profile.

UI profile options

The following options allow you to control the user experience for a given access group:

Enable Excel Export	Allow users the ability to export to Excel.
Enable Google Slide Export	Functionality not yet available. Please contact OrgChart Support to register your interest.
File Manager	Allow users the ability to access the File Manager. Note: This option must be toggled ON to view any custom charts.
Chart explorer
Export chart	Allow users to export charts or plans.
Profile card	Allow users to access the employee profile.
Profile starring (user-defined)	Allow users to star profile fields.
Subchart card	Allow user to access the Subchart card.
Search	Allow users the ability to search.
Directory	Allow users access to the Directory.
Planning	Allow users access to the Planning module.
Reporting	Functionality not yet available. Please contact OrgChart Support to register your interest.
Application, Account, User, and Chart Information	Allow users access to see information about their base charts, custom charts, account subscription, and user.
Help	Allow Admin and read/write users access to the Resource Center, which contains links to in-app tutorials. Read only users will be transferred to the OrgChart help site.
Sign out	Allow users access to sign out. Note: This option is generally disabled for link users and in accounts where SSO is enabled.
Allow language change	Allow users to set their language preferences. Note: This option is generally disabled for link users.
Show username	Show a user's initialed circle (User Settings). Note: This option is generally disabled for link users.
Create custom charts	Allow user access to Edit mode and create custom charts off of the shared base chart.
Launch to self	Launch the application to the employee record associated with the user who logs in.  Note: For this feature to work, an administrator must configure the Record Retrieval method in the Account Settings: Authorization panel.
Breadcrumbs	Display the chain of command as you drill through your chart.
Refresh base charts (Read/Write users)	Allow Read/Write users to refresh base charts and custom charts.
Show grouping	Allow end users to apply, create, and modify groupings.
Allow interactive field toggling	Allow end users to easily include and exclude the available fields shown in boxes on base charts, custom charts, and plans.
Create web links	Allow end users the ability to create web links. Note: Read only users are never allowed to create web links, even when this option is enabled.
Record details	Allow end users the ability to access record details. Note: Read only users are never allowed to access record details, even when this option is enabled.
Modify backgrounds	Allow end users the ability to create and modify backgrounds. Note: Read only users are not allowed to create and modify backgrounds, even when this option is enabled.
