Overview

OrgChart pushes fixes and enhancements to our tool weekly. This article highlights some of OrgChart's most important new features and fixes released each quarter.

Q1 2025

May 09-2025

• Chart Builder -  Improvement to performance  issues  with chart builder.
  
  
• Planning - Fields added to plan after talent pool records are added do not populate

April

• Paylocity - Improved Paylocity and records
  
  
• Planning - Improved UX/UI for Employee based charts.
  
  
• Monthly tasks - Various bug fixes and improvements.

March

• Interactive filters - New UI/UX to let the users enable/disable the interactive filters whenever they need to.
  
  
• Co-Heads - Now available in the new version and the feature functions the same way it did in the old version.
  
  
• OrgUnitInfos table not populating when LongName is not present - Resolved issue where fields pulled from te OrgUnitInfos table were not populating for records that did not have LongName values present.
  
  
• Monthly tasks - Various bug fixes and improvements.

February

• Append Table - Append table now has a refined and streamlined interface.
  
  
• UI Profile - Now the user will immediately be redirected to their subchart or a subchart that shows them, if the user is in the chart data.

January

• File Manager - The +create folder button when a user does not have access permission to perform this action is now disabled.
  
  
• Functional Charts - The user is now able to visualize the functional hierarchy of their organization as well as the employee hierarchy so that they can easily visualize the functional and employee to employee relationships in their organization.
  
  
• Direct Sign-In - When the direct sign-in option is disabled in the environment, the user is unable to sign in directly now.
  
  
• Monthly tasks - Various bug fixes and improvements.

Q4 2024

• Backgrounds and UX improvements - More easily restore header/footer, custom margins and custom size in backgrounds, there is also an improved table and legend editing UX, users can easily manipulate legends and columns on the backgrounds.
  
  
• Streamlined actions menu - Users can now easily access common actions such as saving, chart info, rename charts/plans and reports in a streamlined manner.
  
  
• Mapping Improvements - Better messaging is introduced to let users know about mapping the data as soon as the data source is added.
  
  
• Append Table - Append table feature now lets the users add orphaned records.
  
  
• Planning - The excel exports of the plans now have more details and is a better actionable document for the users.
  
  
• Weekly tasks - Various bug fixes and improvements.

Q3 2024

• Dynamic print preview - See a preview of your chart prior to exporting to PDF, PPT, SVG, JPEG, and PNG. Print preview updates in real-time as you change pagination, scope, and page size.
  
  
• In-app guides - Click  through in-app guides to learn more about OrgChart's key features and functionality. Review in-app guides at any time in the Resource Center. 

Q2 2024

• Background UX improvements - More easily create and modify backgrounds. Background elements can be managed in the right-side panel, and will be automatically pinned to one of the 6 highlighted sections. Users can also drag/drop to adjust top and bottom margins.
  
  
• Enhanced export experience - Export to a variety of formats using the new Export modal. Name files and update pagination at the time of export.
  
  
• Support for BambooHR OpenID Connect - Allows BambooHR clients using BambooHR SSO to pull HR data and photos into OrgChart.
  
  
• Multi-Factor Authentication - App-based multi-factor authentication allows you to add an additional layer of protection to your account. Setup is quick and admins have flexibility over who needs it and who doesn’t. Enterprise only.
  
  
• Key word search - Search on fields containing delineated lists using key words. This is great for searching for records with specific skills. 
  
  
• Granular on-demand filtering - Create complex filters using AND / OR operations on base charts at any time. Filters are unique to each user.
  
  
• Easily access and edit record information - Right-click on records in Edit mode to see all the fields associated with that record. Make updates, and see these updates tracked in the Changes panel.

Q1 2024

• Paylocity integration - Pull HR data directly from Paylocity into OrgChart.
  
  
• Workday REST API integration - Pull HR data directly from Workday into OrgChart using Workday's REST API. 
  
  
• Jemini integration - Pull HR data directly from Jemini into Orgchart.
  
  
• Isolved integration - Pull HR data directly from isolved into OrgChart.
  
  
• Persistant on-demand changes - Make on-demand changes to custom charts (i.e. updating reporting lines, changing titles, and coloring boxes), and see those changes persist through refresh.
  
  
• Track changes in Edit mode - Track on-demand changes made to data, pagination, and formatting on custom charts. See what changed, who changed it, and when.
  
  
• Advanced Search - Search on any field (or formula) in your dataset. Search on multiple fields to narrow the scope.
