Overview
The Export menu allows users to export an org chart to a number of different formats. Users with the correct permissions to export base chart and custom charts to the following formats:
Note
The settings that you configure while exporting your charts are preserved for your user, so that you don't have to re-adjust them each time you export. Settings persist between sessions and are unique to each user.
Accessing the Export Menu
Click on the Export icon in the top right corner . The Export Menu is displayed.
Export to PDF and PPT
1. Click on the Export button on the top right corner.
2. Select the PDF Document or PPT Document option from the dropdown menu.
The following screen is displayed:
3. Configure the following presentation options for the export:

Scope | Select the amount of the org chart you'd like to export. See the Scope options section below for more information. | General |
Page size | The following page sizes are available Letter, Legal, Tabloid, A0, A1, A2, A3 and A4. | General |
Orientation | Select the page orientation of the export (landscape or portrait) | General |
Include background | Include elements in the background such as logos, legends, table and page numbers. | General |
White background | Select to make the chart background white. This option is useful if you plan to print the generated PDF or PPT document, in order to conserve printer ink. | General |
Pagination | Choose the pagination of the export. See the Pagination options section below for more information. | Pages |
Page sort order | Choose which order the pages of your org chart should be in your export. | Pages |
Navigation arrows | Include clickable navigation arrows connecting pages of the chart. May not be useful when physically printing. | Advanced |
Index page | Include a page at the end of the export with each employee’s name and corresponding page number. | Advanced |
Uniform scaling | Ensure all boxes on each page are identically sized. This generally means boxes will be smaller than usual to accommodate large pages, | Advanced |
Scope options:
Entire Chart |
Export the entire org chart. |
This Branch | Export the displayed page plus all subordinate pages. |
The page | Export the displayed page only. |
Entire Chart (extended) |
Export the entire org chart including all orphan records. |
Disconnected branches | Export a list of orphan ( records with a missing or invalid Supervisor ID) that have subordinates. Top Level Orphans, as well as their subordinates, will not appear on the OrgChart. |
All disconnected records | Export all orphan records including both Top level orphans and their subordinates. |
Pagination options:
Single page chart | Export the chart on one page. This option is not recommended for charts with more than 300 boxes. |
Automatic breaks |
Insert page (subchart) breaks automatically. Set the following options:

Break by level |
Insert page (subchart) breaks by each organizational level. Set the following options:

Break by field |
Insert page (subchart) breaks by using a field from the data source. For example, if the field Department is selected, OrgChart will attempt to put each department on a single page. If a department is too large, it may be split into multiple pages. Set the following options:

3. Optionally, navigate the preview to see what pages of your org chart will look like prior to exporting.
4. Click on the Export button.
PNG, SVG and JPEG
1. Click on the Export button on the top right corner, and then select PNG, SVG, or JPEG from the dropdown menu.
The following screen is displayed:
2.Configure the following presentation options for the export:

Crop to chart | Output only the displayed org chart. Master page elements are excluded. | General |
White background | Ensure that the background of the chart is white. This option is ideal for printing when chart backgrounds may have a background fill color. Specific to JPEG, PDF, and PPT. | General |
Transparent Background | Export a PNG or SVG of the chart with a transparent background. This is useful for pasting the image on a colored background or template. | General |
High Quality | Export a higher quality PNG image. Use this option if embedding PNG in a Word document or PowerPoint presentation. Specific to PNG. | General |
3. Optionally, navigate the preview to see what pages of your org chart will look like prior to exporting.
Excel
1. Click on the Export button on the top right corner.
2. Select the Excel Spreadsheet option from the dropdown menu.
The following screen is displayed:
3. Click on one of the following export options to generate an Excel from chart data:

Include chain of command | Export the entire org chart with a Chain of Command field that displays the reporting hierarchy for each employee. | General |

3. Click on the Export button to export your file.Print Current Screen
Users can take a screen grab of the OrgChart to export a PDF of the chart exactly as it is shown on the screen. The PDF will be formatted according to the default PDF export settings. The Print Current Screen option provides an expedited solution for quickly producing a PDF of your OrgChart.
1. Click on the Export button on the top right corner.
2. Select the Print Current Screen option from the dropdown menu. The PDF is downloaded.
